about the squad

We are a collective of diverse agents working together in the TV & Film industry to continue ongoing conversations and efforts regarding racial diversity in the industry. We were created as a resource for our fellow agents in the PMA (Personal Managers’ Association) as the first port of call to discuss any sensitive issues around race that may arise.

We are currently expanding to reach a broader community of actors in the industry to create a safe space for them to share their first-hand experiences to help us in the fight for better representation.

Through our work, we aim to hold the industry accountable for their efforts towards racial diversity and inclusion in casting and project development.

We would like to encourage anyone who would like to share their experiences to contact us. All experiences are anonymous and will not be posted with your name publicly.

change comes when every voice is heard

"We are interesting characters, and sometimes it does not have to include our race or heritage as a topic/theme in a project. He can just be Dave the cop, he doesn’t have to be Dave the Muslim cop."

"I was booked to play a part as a British officer. I had a few lines of dialogue. However, when the Director saw me he decided I didn't look 'British' enough and got a white extra who wasn't even English to play the part and read the lines."

"I have been on set for a Black show - telling the story of real life Black people - and not one Black person or person of colour in the hair & make-up department, leaving me to do my own hair."
